The Judges enjoyed the different interpretations from the competitors and again, the results from the different judges varied heavily... This category became a family affair with a win & runner up for the Hoogendijk family. To date this has been the most hotly contested category with the Images going back to the judges twice. More than 20 entries received points and appart from the winner, almost every placed image shared a place with at least one other image. Congratulations to all and especially to Jaco who also won the Lowepro ProRunner 350 and DVD sets from Shoots Imaging! We have closed the third category of the ODP POTY2011 and the first Hidden Category as well, but with another 8 categories still open, it's anybody's chance to win! You can see on the leaderboard to the right, the points are starting to take shape The following categories are now closed Visual Impact - entries gallery The images are out to the judges and we will post the results as soon as we have them. 2011 Outdoorphoto Photographer of the Year Competition This competition is a little bit different than our other competitions in that it requires that every photographer enter into as many as possible categories to achieve as many points as possible in an effort to not only claim the title of the Outdoorphoto Photographer of the Year, but also to win a first prize voucher of R10,000 to spend as you like at Outdoorphoto. The Competition consists of 8 separate categories for which you will gain points by entering, and more points by being selected for the top 8. The 8 main categories will be known beforehand, and you may enter a single image into every category at any time before the category closing date. Furthermore, there are 4 Hidden Challenges with specific requirements and these will be made known to you at random intervals during the competition. Again, entering a challenge will give you points, and being in the top 8 will again give you points. This time round, it's not only "the best shot" that wins, it's the photographer that can think a bit out of their comfort zone, and give good results when it counts… no matter the topic, no matter the challenge!
